Question:

Plans for bus and other heavy vehicles to incorporate chillers using exhaust heat? Useful in bus where engine power is drained by 100F+ ambient temperatures and conventional A/C and passengers.


Answer from Capstone Management:

Yes, Capstone is currently exploring the incorporation of exhaust fired chillers for transit bus applications with some of our key bus partners.

Question:

Capstone is showing growth in the oil business. Does Capstone have a feature preventing engine runaway in explosive atmospheres like the Deepwater Horizon disaster?


Answer from Capstone Management:

Capstone’s C1D2 stainless steel, positive pressure offshore oil and gas product is designed to operate in the explosive environments found on oil and gas exploration platforms. In addition, the Capstone product has safety features built into its digital controls.

Question:

What is the situation with the "Whisper" Ford S-Max car in the United Kingdom?


Answer from Capstone Management:

Langford Performance Engineering continues to showcase and demonstrate the “Whisper” Ford S-Max to potential automotive manufacturers and other interested parties. Langford is currently looking at developing additional prototypes and pre-production demonstration vehicles with the microturbine powertrain concept for suitable automotive partners.

Question:

When will you target the chain stores for improved sales? The department and supermarket stores need your product for the economy and the environment.


Answer from Capstone Management:

Capstone has long targeted chain stores and big box retail outlets. Capstone has products successfully installed and operating at Wal-Mart, TESCO, Price Chopper and A&P grocery store outlets. To date, Capstone and its partners have been unable to move any chain store or big box retailer to adopt our technology on a wide scale across a significant number of locations.

Question:

On February 3rd, 2011, President Obama announced tax credits and other incentives for energy efficient buildings. Does Capstone have any specific plans to factor into this business opportunity?


Answer from Capstone Management:

Yes, tax credits for energy efficient buildings and the proliferation of green building standards around the world complement Capstone’s value proposition as a clean, efficient and reliable energy solution. Capstone is currently working with Congresswoman Linda Sanchez on the American Microturbine Manufacturing and Clean Energy Deployment Act of 2010. The bill was introduced during the last session, and we are currently looking for additional sponsorship and political support.
